Before I even start this review, I’ll say right off the top that MyHummy is my absolute favourite product when it comes to white noise sleep aids. We’ve tried Ewan the Dream Sheep, Ollie the Owl and Whisbear, but MyHummy has topped them all. And that was before they changed the whole range and brought out the Sleephearts, Sweethearts and Smarthearts. So with all that said, I’m here to give you a review of the Sleepheart range from MyHummy. Here it is:
NEW: MyHummy Sleepheart Range
Prior to the new MyHummy range, the MyHummy products were essentially split into two: The cuddly bear and the Sleepyhead. One was something you would attach to a cot or a pram and more aimed at newborns and babies in general. While the cuddly bear was something that could stay with a toddler and be that perfect combination of sleep aid and teddy bear. Isabelle, our eldest, and currently 2 and a half, still sleeps with Pearl in her bed every single night.
What MyHummy have done with the new range is combine the two previous products into one. You have the bear – in this case Sam – and you also get a Humming Heart pouch to place the heart – the thing that makes the white noise – so you can take it with you or attach it to a cot or pram.
This is also what makes MyHummy even better. The fact that they’ve thought about sleep safety with a baby!
You don’t want a teddy – or a rather large sheep – in the cot with your baby, so instead you can have this humming heart pouch and simply attach it to the side of your cot. You can even do it with the bear itself! Perfect!
MyHummy Features
I guess if you’re reading this review, there might be a slight chance that you actually want to know what the MyHummy does? So I guess I have to tell you.
To cut it right down to basics, MyHummy is essentially a white noise machine. In total it has 5 different sounds. These include: white noise, pink noise, ocean waves, falling rain and amniotic fluid with heartbeat. You can just have a play about and see what works best for you.
They have a 12 hour non-stop mode – our go-to setting – which does as you’d expect: it stays on for 12 hours straight without stopping. You can also go with the Sleep Sensor mode which essentially monitors the sound in the room and kicks in if it hears a noise. This is ideal if you want to save on battery slightly and have the MyHummy help if your baby stirs. Personally though, we rather use the battery up and keep it on all night.
MyHummy also has a fading out setting which is much better than an abrupt stop which could arose your baby. Then it’s machine washable once you remove the humming heart and all MyHummies are made of certified materials suitable from birth.

Does White Noise Actually Help with Sleep?
It doesn’t matter how good MyHummy make their product, at the end of the day the question you really want to be

I’ll be honest with you, when my wife first bought a MyHummy back in the summer of 2017 I thought she’d been tucked up. I thought it was a bit of a pointless product aimed at worried new parents that wouldn’t work. Either that or I just thought you could chuck Spotify on and it would do the same job but for free.
Fast forward to now and I can safely say that I am so glad she bought that first MyHummy! We’ve honestly never looked back. Every single night we have used MyHummy to help ALL OF US to get to sleep.
Even if you don’t have children I would highly recommend either MyHummy or some sort of white noise product in general. Of course, if you’re just an adult with no children, then perhaps you just want a white noise machine. But a little white box isn’t exactly what you want your
So yes, I personally think white noise is amazing in helping myself get to sleep much quicker. I also believe it helps with children too as on nights where the batteries have run out have been the nights where they’ve had the most disrupted sleep.
MyHummy Bluetooth: Is it worth the extra money?
Now, if you want to go for the Sleepheart bear on its own then it will set you back roughly £59.99. If you want the added extras of the Bluetooth then that’s going to be an additional £20. So I guess I should probably say what you’ll get with the Bluetooth feature and question whether it’s worth it.
Basically, with the Bluetooth version of the MyHummy you’ll be able to control every element of the bear via your phone rather than by pressing the heart itself.
If I’m totally honest, the Bluetooth feature isn’t massively important for us at this stage as we still co-sleep with both our children. But having this does have benefits to those with children or babies in their own room. For a start, the app can alert you when the sleep sensor has been activated. Thus you will be able to know that your child is stirring. Quite a handy feature if you want to potter around the house while they sleep.
It also lets you know how much battery is left, again, another very handy feature as the last thing you want is to run out of power at 2am!
In all honesty though, this app mainly just helps with convenience. Rather than mess around pressing the heart to change the sound or put it in 12 hour mode – another great feature of MyHummy! – you can just do it all via the app. It’s not a vital element, but if you want to spend a little extra for a few added extras then it’s down to what you want out of this product.
