Couch to 5K Week 5: Getting Back Into it After Missing a Week

As of writing this I’ve just completed week 5 of my Couch to 5K! You might have noticed that I didn’t talk about this last week, well that was because I didn’t actually do any runs. Don’t worry, I have a pretty good excuse. Rather than do my runs I opted to try and sort the garden out instead. After moving a lot of trees, weeds, stones and goodness knows what else, I couldn’t physically run as I was knackered! I ached in places I didn’t think were possible. The worst part is that the garden isn’t even remotely finished.…

Breastfeeding in Public: Learning to Feed with Confidence

As I started my breastfeeding journey I was worried about two things: not physically being able to do it, and breastfeeding in public. Fortunately the first worry didn’t turn it to much. I had moments where it was a real struggle – like every mum probably does – but I never questioned whether I could physically do it once I started. Breastfeeding in public, on the other hand, was still something that worried me. Breastfeeding in Public: the Early Days The early days are pretty rough; it’s a bit like living in a fog. Boob, sleep, nappy, repeat. In the…

Couch to 5K Week 4: Staying the Same with My Weight Despite an Extra Run

Well I may have struggled for week 4 but I’ve managed to complete my runs. And that’s including my extra one that I missed last week. In total I’m currently running for 16 minutes – albeit intermittently – and managing it quite well. The first run is still the hardest but by the time that last run comes I feel amazing! Like I can just keep going. I didn’t think I’d say this a few weeks ago, but this Couch to 5K has been rather enjoyable! Week 4: Back up to Date with My Couch to 5K I’ve only had…

Couch to 5K Week 3: Another Weight Loss Despite Missing a Run

Every week I’m more surprised that I’m still sticking to this Couch to 5K. Unfortunately, this week hasn’t been so great though. I will hold my hands up, I’ve only managed two runs but I have managed to keep to my diet – well, aside from the few Lindor chocolates we bought last weekend – Oops! Although I still managed a weight loss, so maybe Lindor isn’t actually that bad? Or maybe I’m being hopeful. Either way, here’s my Couch to 5K week 3! First Time Missing a Run For this week I’ve mainly struggled with time. I’m a little limited to when I can…

Couch to 5K Week 2: Still Going Strong Despite Adversity

My Couch to 5K week 2 certainly got off to a rocky start. We had a sickness bug that took down the house Monday and Tuesday, so I didn’t start my runs until Wednesday! When that day finally came, and I knew I had to do my first run, all I could think about was the fact that I didn’t really want to do it. In the past this would usually have been the end of my running aspirations. I’d say to myself a simple “oh I can’t do this today because…” and then I’d have no motivation to start again. Still…
