We’re back with another month in photos roundup! As you might be able to guess, this is going to be five photos that reflect on the month of March. No messing. Let’s go.
“Seriously dad, it’s cold!”
You might have noticed, but March saw the UK get hit by the Beast from the East. And there was no chance I was going to miss the opportunity to take a decent picture of Isabelle enjoying the snow. I’m not always the best at reading Isabelle’s facial expression, but I’m going to guess this one says “OMG this is the best day ever!”
I might be wrong on that one.
I did talk about the snow that we had that week. If you want want to, you can read about that too. Hopefully we’re all done for now and we can actually start having some summer. Is that too much to ask?
“I’m going to read that one, then that one, then that one…”
This month I’ve been thinking an awful lot about home educating Isabelle. And I guess this is a photo about the fact that I’ve kinda been preparing for this for some time. I’ve been buying different types of books for Isabelle for years. For longer than she’s been alive in fact.
Don’t get me wrong, home educating a child is about more than just buying the books. But it’s about the fact that I want to do the best that I can. And these books are the first steps towards that. I don’t just want educational books, I want books that inspire. There’s going to be a lot more added to this collection over the coming years. I just hope that we’ll actually be able to do this!
“Ten Years Together!”
I know this is technically cheating. This photo is a less a photo and more a collage. But it’s my roundup so it’s my rules!
March 22nd saw my wife and I ‘celebrate’ being together for ten years. Of course, we’re married now. So we technically have a new anniversary date. This July will mark two years of being married. So the March 22nd date is going to be a little irrelevant. But hitting the ten year mark is a slightly bigger deal. Kind of.
I’ve always said that Rachel is the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I stand by that statement. I genuinely don’t feel that I would be here today if it wasn’t for her. During my worst days of depression, which was well before this blog started, she was the only thing that kept me going.
Then, when I was bad again with Isabelle she was the best wife I could’ve asked for. There was no judgement, no questioning, just support.
As of this writing I can safely say we’ll be having another ten years together! But you never know. It could just as easily end in divorce, a nasty child custody battle and me planting drugs on her to keep the kids. But you never know!
“Isabelle, just look at the bloody camera!”
This was taken whilst we were in Bluestone, a lovely family resort in Wales. I’ll be honest, we didn’t take many photos whilst we were there. I did take a better one for #MySundayPhoto. But I didn’t really take my camera out and about and spent more time doing silly instagram stories. Obviously. But this is one of us sat on some random big chair thing they have in the middle of the village.
It’s not the best photo. But it’s a family one whilst on vacation. This photo is more about the fact that it’ll remind us of the brilliant time we had when we went there. I’d highly recommend anyone to attend Bluestone. We’ll certainly be going back!
“My wife’s first Mother’s Day”
Don’t say it. I’m cheating again, I know.
This is the scrapbook idea I had as part of my Mother’s Day gift guide that I did. I’m not going to lie. It’s a banging idea! I’ll admit that this year wasn’t quite as fun as it’ll be in the future as most of it was done alone. You can see Isabelle’s footprints across the page, but getting a ten month to do much else is a tough ask!
I genuinely can’t wait to do this each year and see how it develops. It’s not just about Mother’s Day. It’s about fuelling Isabelle’s creativity and getting her to think about presents in a different way. Screw spending cash on pointless stuff. Let’s have fun and do something awesome!
That’s It For March!
Well, I guess that’s it for March. If you’re super interested in following this blog in a picture friendly way, then I’m pretty sure that’s the whole point of Instagram! You might get to see April’s photos before they’re even on the blog.
