There are far better photos of the recent snow that’s hit the UK than this one. But we didn’t exactly venture far from the house, so this is pretty much the best I could do.
Of course, I still like it. I like the fact that it shows the dogs, two members of the family that don’t get the love that they deserve on this blog. That’s probably partly due to the fact that this is a parenting blog, and as such isn’t going to be about dachshunds all that often. But I also like the fact you can see Isabelle looking at the snow with some mild confusion, despite the fact this isn’t her first time seeing the stuff. I would’ve loved to have brought her out and let her play in it like we did for a little while the last time, but having a ten month old in -6 conditions maybe wouldn’t have been the best idea.
I guess the majority of my other #MySundayPhoto’s have been quite reflective, partly due to the fact we’ve travelled to places we’ve been before. But you could say that this one is quite the opposite. To me, I see a photo that had it been taken in a few years time would look very different. Isabelle wouldn’t be behind the door in the warmth of the house. She’d instead likely have been pestering me to get out. I’d then have photos of her on a sled, or in a puffed up jacket wandering through the snow. So to me, this is a photo that shows us where we are right now. But it’s also one that makes me think of where we’ll be in a few years time, and to me, that’s exciting.
