#MySundayPhoto – A Taste of Bluestone

This week we’ve been away. As you might be able to guess from the title, we went to Bluestone.

Why This Photo?

I’ll be honest, I didn’t really use the camera all that much in Bluestone. Mainly because I didn’t want to carry it around, and then try to take pictures during soft play or swimming. But I did take a few in the lodge, and then some during a bit of good weather in the ‘garden’. This was probably one of the better ones.

But I love this photo because it makes me want to give Isabelle the opportunity to embrace nature. I want her to love taking walks through the forests, swimming in lakes, paddling in a canoe, building a campfire, and camping with her family. Lots of stuff that I can’t wait to be able to do. Can we do them now? Kind of. But it’s probably not a good idea to dunk a ten month old in a river. I’m not saying I’m against the idea, but my wife might be. Nor is camping really the best idea either. But a few years down the line? I really hope so.

Of course, it’s not Isabelle that I’ll likely have to convince. That’ll be my wife. The last time we went camping was at Download Festival in 2012. We pitched our tent during a downpour and everything was wet for the next three days. It wasn’t fun. So she has some bad memories of slumming it in a tent. Maybe I’ll have to set her up in a lodge whilst me and Isabelle wander off into the woods. Not that I trust my navigational abilities on that one.

This is also my 100th blog post! I was going to throw some sort of party. But I’m just going to carry on blogging. I never thought I’d hit 100 when I started out. But I guess if you keep writing, it’s kind of inevitable.
