I’ll be honest, my first thought when I saw JamDoughnut was “oh yay, another cashback website that probably sucks, has barely any decent retailers and takes aggggggges to payout.” You know, like Quidco, the first website that comes to my mind when I think of cashback.
But then I read more into it, which lead me to giving it a try, and then being actually impressed.
I’ll be honest with you, I’m not a massive shopper. We don’t go out for food much, I don’t buy clothes often, and I try to avoid home & gardening places for the same reason some men don’t want their partners going to see Magic Mike.
BUT… Like many of you reading this, the one place I do spend a lot of money every week is the supermarket!

Cost of living crisis for the win.
Supermarket spending is one of those “I have to spend money here in order to live” type spends. But that’s the main thing that attracted me to JamDoughnut. Most cashback places give me a list of places that I’ll never bother shopping at anyway.
Ones like New Look, ASOS, or Royal Caribbean – one can dream. And sure, JamDoughnut has those. But they also have Asda, Aldi, Morrisons, M&S, and Tesco.
I like this because I NEED to do my food shop. I don’t need New Look. Having places that you NEED is a big bonus as you HAVE to spend the money anyway, so why not grab some cashback and earn money instantly whilst you’re at it?
For that reason, JamDoughnut genuinely feels like a no brainer
First things first though, let me tell you how it works.
That image basically explains it.
- You purchase a gift card for a particular brand on JamDoughnut and INSTANTLY get the cashback.
- Then you use the gift card to do your shopping – if you want to do a £100 spend in Asda, you just buy a £100 gift card for Asda.
- Just like that you’ve got £2.50 in cashback.
For me, that’s basically our plan.
Every week when we do the food shop I’ll use JamDoughnut to grab an Asda gift card and checkout using that. You can still use your Asda rewards too, which is a big bonus.
If we do that every week for a whole year – based on a £100 spend per week – then you’ve got yourself… £130! For FREE.
Chuck in any other trivial spending you might do and you could probably see that wrack up quite quickly.

BE CAUTIOUS
I don’t want to start sounding like Martin Lewis, but don’t just go on JamDoughnut and go “Oooo Bloom & Wild have 8% cashback, I’m going to shop there!”
If you do that, you’ll just spend money you wasn’t even going to spend. You haven’t gained 8%, you’ve lost 92%.
Instead, just use it for things you were going to spend money on anyway.
Ordering a takeaway? You may as well have 5% cashback on JustEat. Booking the National Express? Sure, get that 10%. Or like mentioned above, doing the food shop? You may as well earn some cachback.
