Nothing spells ultimate relaxation and a real holiday like a beach destination. Be it for your honeymoon or as a family summer holiday, beach destinations are always a hit. And why not? Sun, sand, sea, endless hours of fun for the children and sipping cocktails on the beach for the grown-ups – what’s not to like?
So, once Covid allows us to travel again, and you need a proper holiday from the stress of lockdown and homeschooling, head to one of these amazing beach destinations. You won’t regret it!
1. the Maldives
The most expensive, but also the most memorable – Maldives is on every beach lover’s wishlist. An ideal beach destination for honeymooners and romantic getaways, with its idyllic location, tropical sunshine, and absolutely breathtaking natural beauty. Comprising 1200 coral islands, each housing luxurious resorts, Maldives is perfect for seclusion, serenity, and of course awesome sunsets!
2. Mykonos, Greece
The Greek island of Mykonos is another all-time popular beach destination, and one of Europe’s most popular summer holiday destinations. The sandy beaches, crystal-clear water, activities including water sports, and a buzzing nightlife make Mykonos a hit with youngsters, couples, and families alike.
There are numerous resorts and five-star hotels across the island – most on the beach-front – but for a truly memorable experience (and more privacy), consider renting a luxury villa from Mykonos Villas.
3. Seychelles
Seychelles is a pure tropical beach paradise. Think emerald green lagoons, expanses of white sandy beaches dotted with palm trees, top-class resorts, and sunshine; Seychelles is all this and more! Nestled in the Indian Ocean, it also boasts two UNESCO World Heritage sites – the Vallee de Mai and the Aldabra, so you can get a dose of history and culture thrown in as well.
For more adventure with the kids, Seychelles has beautiful forests and mountains as well as beaches, lovely fishing villages and local markets and lots of other touristy things to see and do. And an interesting cuisine to top it all!
4. Ibiza, Spain
Ibiza has loads to offer holiday-goers and tourists. While this Spanish island is better known for its awesome beaches and rocking nightlife, not many are aware that the quaint ‘old town’ of Ibiza has lots of culture ingrained in it, and is, in fact, a UNESCO-designated town!
This makes this a perfect family holiday destination with a perfect mix of lazy, lounging days on the beach mixed with touring the old town and visiting some amazing places. Ibiza boasts more than 100 miles of beautiful coastline and over 50 beaches, all dotted with hotels, resorts, restaurants, bars, and water sports.
5. Positano, Italy
One of the jewels of the gorgeous Amalfi Coast, Positano is unique in that it’s covered with beaches with backdrops of mountainous views, all dotted with white or terracotta houses and restaurants, steep streets, and hundreds and thousands of steps that form a pathway to the beaches.
While the beaches are truly gorgeous (the blue waters of the Amalfi coast are spectacular) the town of Positano itself has a lot to offer.
