Do you like animals and fun days out with the kids!? Then you might like Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens! We’ve recently taken our three young kids there so I guess you can consider this a nice little review of the place. Should you book it and go yourself? Who knows!? Read this and find out.
Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens Review
First things first, with the cost of living crisis going on and all that jazz, I feel like it’s only sensible to start with the price. This could be the greatest wildlife park ever, but if it’s £350/ticket then you might not bother going. Honestly, it’s actually quite cheap. There’s 5 of us – one of which was free due to being under 3 – so we paid £56. To be fair, you actually enter the park via your car, so whilst I don’t want to say you could easily “fake” your kids ages, but I will say that the people checking your tickets can’t quite see the kids in the car now can they? But yeah… never lie about the kids ages, that’s illegal.
If you want to see the most up-to-date ticket prices then just click the link you just read past.
But as prices go it’s not actually that bad. Especially when you consider other similar places. I would go out and do some research and give you a proper good price comparison. But I genuinely can’t be arsed. I know Folly Farm is £100+ for the 5 of us. West Midlands Safari is probably a bomb. So that’s as much research as I’m willing to put into this.
What animals are at Cotswold Wildlife?
Oh yeah, I guess you wanna know the animals that you’ll “meet” at the park, right? Well you could just go on the bloody website and check, but since you’re here, you may as well have me tell you instead.
They had rhinos and giraffes, which have enclosures that are quite easy to get into. So if you want to see if you could beat a rhino in a fight then by all means you can give it a go. Like for real, the fence was rather low and I could very easily jump it.

See what I mean? I don’t even think they’d be that hard to beat, but that’s not the purpose of this review.
They had lions, but they’re a bit shit as they don’t really do much other than sleep – no shock really. Then they had penguins, which pose for photos better than my children do.

Told you.
They had these little “dog” things that look like cute gophers.

They had flamingos that felt SUPER far away – if you were interested in the distance between you and pink fluffy birds.

Oh… they had meerkats! But everyone has meerkats these days. Why don’t wildlife parks have something proper weird like dinosaurs? Didn’t we clone Dolly the sheep in the 90s? What happened to that.
They have all sorts of birds I guess. And umm… yeah just like proper cool animals and stuff I guess. I don’t want to spoil the surprise for you, so I won’t list them all.
How long does it take to go around Cotswold Wildlife Park?
Not gonna lie, that’s a very silly question. It totally depends on how long you take to walk, how long you look at the animals, whether you eat dinner or not – FYI the prices weren’t horrific, I think it was £3.80 for a hot dog, but truth be told we’re tight bastards so we bring our own food. I have 3 kids, mate. I can’t afford dinner AND tickets!
But yeah, you could very easily spend the day there. I believe we were there… my first photo of the day – taken whilst in the car – was at 10:53am, and the last one – also taken in the car – was at 13:55. So that’s 3 hours? To be fair, we did go to another farm the day before AND the kids had a late night – caravan holiday – so they were a tad tired. Plus it suddenly pissed down. And I don’t like getting pissed on.
What’s the Best part of the Wildlife Park?
Hmm…. So our favourite part of the entire place was probably the park. It was proper bang tidy to be fair. You could easily spend an hour or so just running around that. I don’t even think we managed to do all of it as the kids spent 90% of their time cycling around the near-vertical looking death slide. Ok, it’s not that bad. But it looks a bit scary. Especially for a 1 year old. Yes, I sent him down. Yes, he enjoyed it.
I would show you the park but I didn’t take any photos of it due to the fact other kids were present and I’m not a pervert. Nor am I narcissist enough to go “hey, can everyone move because I’m a blogger and I need a good photo!?” I know bloggers can be self indulgent wankers at times, but not me.
Would I go back?
Well we live in South Wales, so it’s probably a near-two hour drive to Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens, so we’re not in a mad rush to go back. But sure, if we were in the area some time in the future and fancied an enjoyable, affordable day out, then yes, we’d all happily go back.
Is that enough now? Honestly like, I probably have carpal tunnel so every word I write brings me a great deal of discomfort, so if you want to learn more then just head to their website or read a review from a blogger who’s detailed and professional enough to actually tell you what you need to know. But no, you have this wanker. Sorry about that one. Thank you for reading. I’m Ross and I do cool shit on the internet sometimes. That’s a lie. I’m a bellend. See for yourself.
