Ways To Show Someone You Love Them

Collaborative post

You have had the conversations before deciding to move in together. You have made a decision and commitment to one and another which is a huge sign of the love you feel. But, now you are in that routine it can become easy to fall into a rut.

Of course, you still celebrate the big occasions with cards, lgbt gifts, or flowers. But there are plenty of other ways to show your love and make your special person feel all that more special.

Think Outside The Box

Don’t just complete the motions and do the ‘standard’ things that you are supposed to do. If expensive dinners aren’t what you or your partner appreciate don’t do it. Every person is different. Take a little time to consider what they actually like and apply that.  Showing that you know someone is the most romantic thing you can do. If they have a particular favorite meal, cook it and pop their favorite movie on. If they love nature, go for a nice walk and take a picnic.

Do Chores

How many times have you looked at your partner when they take additional responsibility and carry out those chores and counted your lucky stars. It really is sexy and giving them the opportunity to have a break is one of the most appreciated ways to show someone how much you love them.

Be Spontaneous

Breaking up the normal routine and surprising them with a date or outing is a perfect way to show love. You are making the effort to break the norm and showing that you value spending quality time with them. You don’t necessarily need to plan anything too extreme it could be as simple as choosing to take a drive together and talking and just seeing how the rest of the day pans out. You tend to find it is the unplanned activities and days that bring the most surprises and vivid memories.

Talk To Them

When you are in a long-term relationship it can become easy to stop communicating properly. The conversation can become very repetitive as you only talk about what is for dinner, how work was, or even how the children have been. It could be because you’ve got a little too comfortable or there isn’t much to say. But, trying means so much. Turn over the TV or the radio, and actively initiate conversation. Asking questions and showing interest in them and their day will make them feel so valued.

Listen

There is no point in making more effort to talk unless you are going to listen. When you’ve been with someone for a while it can be easy to tune out when they are talking. You may not even realize you are doing it, but when you are not listening it can be hurtful and make them feel undervalued. Whether the topic is boring or repetitive it is important to listen. Just remember this person is the person you love and it is important that they feel they can come and talk to you about anything.
