My Husband Had Postnatal Depression – But His Battle Affected Me Too

My husband cried the day we found out I was pregnant. For almost our entire relationship being a father was something he wanted to be. But when our little girl was finally born, things weren’t right. I never put much thought into the idea of him suffering with postnatal depression, but all of a sudden, that’s exactly what he was going through. I know he’s talked about his struggles a lot on this blog. But the unspoken side of mental health is often the affects it has on the people around the sufferer. So this is my story of having…

Tredegar House Country Park – My Go-to Park to Take My Toddler

Like most parents, I like to take my toddler to the park as often as I can. Not only is it good for her to wander around and use up some energy, but it’s good for me to get out and about too. Out of all the parks we’ve gone to, we keep getting drawn back to Tredegar House Country Park. So much so that I wanted to do a little review of sorts about why we both seemingly love Tredegar Park. The worst part is that the garden isn’t even remotely finished.…

I’ve heard some bizarre shit in my time, but I recently came across the term ‘Theybies’ and thought “here we go again, more of this stupid shit.” This is essentially coming off the back of the whole ‘gender-neutral’ parenting movement that has slowly but surely been picking up a lot of steam lately. I will apologies in advance before you continue, this post will contain some curse words in it. I don’t tend to swear too heavily in my blog posts but fuck it, this one deserves it. If you want to see some of the stupid shit I’m referring…

Dad Diaries #7 – Failing to Finish the Wye Valley Challenge

For those with a far too keen of an eye, you might have noticed that there was no Dad Diaries last week. For that, I’ll apologise. Although I sense that apology is needed for no one. But I do have a good reason for skipping a week. Last week I set off in an attempt to walk 100km from Chepstow to Hereford for the Wye Valley Challenge. I managed 74km. In other words, I failed. Some would say that managing that amount is still a great accomplishment and I should be proud. I on the other hand, would simply say…
