Arguing In Front of Children – Is it Really a Bad Thing?

In an article posted on the BBC, they talked about the negative affects that might arise as a result of arguing in front of children. On the surface, arguing in front of children sounds like a bad idea. And there’s a chance that it is. But like most things in life there is more to this topic than first meets the eye. So I’m going to ask one very simple question: is it really a bad thing? What Damage Does Arguing in front of children actually do? There’s no doubt that persistent, destructive arguing can be damaging to not only…

Artificial Feeding: Offensive Term or Are People Easily Offended?

In an article posted by the BBC, a hospital has been criticised for using the term artificial feeding in regards to how people might want to feed their baby after the birth. Not only did they refer to feeding a baby formula milk as artificial feeding, but they also used the term ‘artificial milk’ several times throughout the letter. 12 Weeks Paternity to Address the Gender Pay Gap?

On the back of MPs calling for 12 weeks paternity leave, the Guardian have gone with the idea that it will help address the gender pay gap. I was reading a post the other day about Instagram banning birthing photos and I wondered how I felt on the matter. So I’ve done what I always do when I want to express my thoughts: turned to writing. I will warn you before you continue that this post does contain explicit birth photos. I’ve chosen explicit photos to better illustrate what is on Instagram and for the shock value. Just letting you know on the off chance you’re the complaining type. So lets talk about birth photos on social media shall we? Should Child Birth Photos Be Banned From Social…

Is Co-Sleeping Safe? – We Do It and We Love It

An article, posted on the Daily Mail, has stated that “three babies are accidentally dying every WEEK while sleeping in their parents’ bed with 141 fatalities in the past year alone.” With a damning, misleading headline like that, I thought I’d look at the question “is co-sleeping safe?” Is Co-Sleeping Safe? It’s very important to note how things are worded in this article when it comes to asking “Is co-sleeping safe?”. Take the following as an example: ‘The chance of sudden death goes up when bed-sharing if a parent smokes, has drunk alcohol or taken drugs or is very tired.” IF.…
